What Is Hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by excessive sweating that goes beyond what the body needs to regulate body temperature. It targets the eccrine sweat glands, causing them to become overactive in areas like the underarms, palms, and soles of the feet.
Hyperhidrosis treatment uses neurotoxin injections such as Botox to block the nerve signals that trigger sweat production. The result is a dramatic improvement in sweating that can last several months.
What Does HyperhidrosisTreat?
This treatment targets areas of the body where excessive sweating causes the most embarrassment and discomfort. Common concerns include:
- Underarm sweating (axillary hyperhidrosis)
- Sweating on the palms of the hands
- Sweating on the soles of the feet
- Sweating that soaks through clothing and disrupts daily activities
Whether you have generalized hyperhidrosis or sweating focused on one area, our team can help you find the right treatment option.

Book Consultation Call (303) 900-8751Am I a Good Candidate?
You may be a good candidate if excessive sweating has a noticeable impact on your quality of life. Many patients come to us after trying clinical-strength antiperspirants, topical solutions, or oral medications without lasting results.
Ideal candidates include those who:
- Sweat heavily in the underarms, palms, or feet despite using antiperspirant products
- Feel embarrassment or avoid social situations because of visible sweat
- Have tried over-the-counter or prescription options without improvement
- Want a minimally invasive option with little to no downtime
During your consultation, your nurse injector will review your medical history, discuss the type and cause of your sweating, and determine if neurotoxin injection is the right fit. This treatment is not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with an underlying medical condition should speak with their dermatologist first.
What to Expect
Your nurse injector will start by examining the treatment area and reviewing your concerns. She will then use a fine needle to place small Botox injections just beneath the skin in the targeted sweat glands. Most sessions focus on the underarms, though other areas can be treated as well.
The entire appointment takes about 20 to 30 minutes. There is little to no downtime, and most patients return to normal activities the same day. You may notice mild tenderness at the injection sites, but this typically resolves within a few hours.
Results begin to appear within a few days, with full effect around two weeks. The treatment is long-lasting, with most patients enjoying three to six months of reduced sweating before a follow-up is needed.
Pre & Post Care
Before your appointment:
Take Arnica Montana tablets for three days before your visit to reduce bruising risk. Limit alcohol and avoid blood-thinning medications such as fish oil, aspirin, and ibuprofen. If you take a prescribed medication, consult your provider before making changes.
After your treatment:
Avoid extreme heat or cold, strenuous exercise, and NSAIDs (Advil, Ibuprofen, Aspirin). Do not massage the treated area or wear tight headgear for the first four hours to prevent product migration.

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterized by excessive sweating that is not tied to heat or exercise. It can affect the underarms, palms, feet, and face. The condition involves overactive eccrine sweat glands and can have a real impact on daily life.
Primary hyperhidrosis is believed to be genetic with no identifiable underlying cause. Secondary hyperhidrosis can be triggered by hormonal shifts like menopause, certain medications, or infections. A proper evaluation helps determine the type and cause so you receive the right treatment.
Common symptoms of hyperhidrosis include visible sweat that soaks through clothing, wet palms, sweaty feet, and skin irritation. Many patients also report embarrassment, social anxiety, and avoidance of activities they enjoy.
Treatments for hyperhidrosis range from clinical-strength antiperspirants and topical solutions to anticholinergic oral medications, iontophoresis (a treatment that uses a mild electrical current to reduce sweat), and neurotoxin injections. At Boujee Nurse, we specialize in Botox injections as an effective treatment for moderate to severe sweating.
Yes. Botox is FDA-approved for severe axillary (underarm) sweating. The neurotoxin works by temporarily blocking the nerves that activate sweat glands. It is a safe, well-studied option with a strong track record. Side effects are rare but can include temporary eyelid drooping or minor bruising at the injection site.
The injection process takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Most patients describe mild discomfort similar to a small pinch. There is virtually no downtime, and you can return to your regular routine the same day. Results typically last three to six months, providing long-lasting relief from excessive sweating.
Anyone suffering from excessive sweating that interferes with confidence or daily activities may be a good candidate. If antiperspirant products and other methods have not provided lasting results, neurotoxin injection could be the right next step. Your nurse injector will evaluate your needs during a consultation.
While home remedies alone may not dramatically reduce hyperhidrosis, lifestyle changes can help manage symptoms. Wearing breathable fabrics, using an antiperspirant with clinical strength, staying hydrated, and avoiding triggers like spicy foods and caffeine can all help reduce sweat. For lasting results, professional hyperhidrosis treatment is the most effective path. Hyperhidrosis prevention starts with a combination of at-home habits and professional care.
