What Is Moxi Laser?
Moxi is a non-ablative laser by Sciton that delivers focused laser energy into the deeper layers of your skin. Unlike ablative lasers that remove the outer surface, Moxi works beneath the skin to stimulate collagen production and kickstart your body's natural healing process without significant surface damage.
The result is smoother, brighter skin with improved texture and a more even complexion. Sessions are quick and recovery is gentle enough to fit into a busy schedule.

What to Expect
Your visit starts with a skin assessment. Your provider will review your concerns, discuss your goals, and build a customized treatment plan around what your skin needs.
A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area to keep you comfortable. Your provider then uses the Sciton Moxi handpiece to deliver controlled laser energy across the targeted areas. The laser creates tiny micro-channels in the skin that trigger collagen production and your body's natural healing response.
Sessions take about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the treated area. Patients often describe the sensation as a warm, prickling feeling that is very manageable with numbing.
After your session, you may notice redness and warmth similar to a mild sunburn. Over the next few days, small dark spots called MENDs (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris) will form on your skin. These spots create a bronzed, sandpaper-like texture as your skin naturally exfoliates. MENDs typically slough off within five to seven days to reveal fresh, radiant skin underneath.
Most patients see visible improvement in skin texture and tone within one to two weeks. For optimal results, a series of three to four treatments spaced four weeks apart is recommended. Your provider may suggest maintenance sessions to keep your overall appearance looking its best.
Pre & Post Care
Before your appointment:
Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for two to four weeks before treatment. Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily. Discontinue chemical peels, microneedling, and waxing in the treatment area. Five to seven days before your session, stop using retinoids, glycolic acid, and other exfoliating products. Arrive with clean skin free of makeup or sunscreen.
After your treatment:
Redness and warmth are normal for up to 24 hours. Keep your skin moisturized and wear SPF 30+ daily. Cleanse gently and avoid picking or scratching as MENDs form and fall off. You can apply makeup 24 hours after treatment. If swelling occurs, sleep with your head elevated and use a cold compress.

Why Boujee Nurse?
At Boujee Nurse, we are not a corporate med spa. Here is what sets us apart:
Boutique care, not a factory. Our team is intentionally small. You see the same trusted providers every visit, not a revolving door of staff. That consistency means better results and a relationship built on trust.
RN-led, MD-supervised. Our aesthetic nurses are Registered Nurses with advanced training. Lead injector Rachel Ross, BSN, RN, CANS, brings over 12 years of experience. Dr. Gregory Buford, a board-certified plastic surgeon, serves as Medical Director.
Customized, never cookie-cutter. We personalize every Moxi session around your unique skin concerns, lifestyle, and budget. If we think a different approach would serve you better, we will always be honest. Our goal is your best skin, not the biggest sale.
We also offer BBL HEROic, SkinPen microneedling, chemical peels, and PRP facials at our Greenwood Village clinic. Looking for injectables? Ask about neurotoxins including Botox and Dysport, dermal fillers, and lip filler to complement your skincare results.

Moxi is a non-ablative laser by Sciton that delivers gentle energy into the skin to stimulate collagen production and trigger natural healing. The laser creates micro-channels that prompt your body to resurface the skin from within. This improves skin texture and tone, reduces pigmentation, and restores a youthful glow. Because it is non-ablative, it does not remove the outer layer of skin, which means less downtime.
Moxi is effective for sun damage, uneven skin tone, fine lines, acne scars, age spots, melasma, and dullness. The treatment can improve tone and encourage cell turnover to rejuvenate your skin. It is also a great choice for patients who want to refresh their skin as part of regular maintenance.
Yes. Moxi is safe for all skin types and tones. Many laser treatments carry a higher risk of hyperpigmentation for darker skin tones, but Moxi's non-ablative laser technology makes it a safer choice. Your provider will assess your skin during your consultation to confirm Moxi is right for you.
Moxi is known for minimal downtime. Most patients experience redness and warmth for the first 24 hours, followed by MENDs that slough off over five to seven days. Your skin may look slightly bronzed, but it is not painful. Most patients return to normal activities the next day and can wear makeup 24 hours after their session.
Many patients see a noticeable difference after one session, but a series of three to four treatments spaced four weeks apart is recommended for optimal results. Periodic maintenance can keep the appearance of your skin looking fresh. Your provider will map out a plan during your consultation.
Many patients say Moxi is one of the best investments they have made in their skin. The power of the Moxi laser lies in its ability to deliver visible improvement in tone, texture, and radiance with very little downtime. It is an ideal choice for anyone who wants to improve their skin without putting life on hold.
Moxi and CO2 lasers serve different purposes. CO2 is an ablative laser that removes outer layers of skin and requires one to two weeks of downtime. Moxi is a non-ablative treatment with minimal downtime that focuses on revitalization and prevention. For many patients, Moxi offers the right balance of results and recovery. Your provider can help you decide which option fits your goals during a consultation.
The cost of a Moxi laser in Denver depends on the treatment area and whether you choose a single session or package. New patients at Boujee Nurse receive a $100 credit toward their first treatment. We also offer financing options to make your goals more accessible. Schedule a consultation for a personalized quote.
Keep your skin moisturized and protected with SPF 30+ daily. Cleanse gently and avoid picking or scratching the treated area as MENDs form and fall off. You can apply makeup after 24 hours. Avoid retinoids and exfoliating products until your skin has healed, typically about one week. Visit our Pre and Post Treatment page for the full guide.
