About This Treatment

What Is Prodigy Peel?

The iS Clinical Prodigy Peel is a professional-grade chemical peel treatment designed to exfoliate dead skin cells, resurface the outer layers of the skin, and stimulate cell turnover for renewed skin. It uses a carefully formulated blend of active acids, including salicylic acid, lactic acid, citric acid, and resorcinol, to penetrate the skin and target a variety of concerns.

What makes the Prodigy Peel unique is its versatility. It is available in two systems that allow your provider to customize the treatment depth from superficial to medium-depth depending on your skin type, concerns, and goals.

Ideal Candidates

Am I a Good Candidate?

The Prodigy Peel works well for a wide variety of skin types, age groups, and concerns. You may be a good candidate if you want to:

  • Improve skin tone, texture, and radiance so your skin looks even in tone and smooth
  • Reduce fine lines, wrinkles, or visible signs of aging
  • Target hyperpigmentation, pigment irregularities, or color irregularity from sun damage
  • Clarify mild acne or refresh dull skin
  • Enhance your overall complexion and glow

The Prodigy Peel is not recommended for patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have active cold sores, open wounds, sunburn, or excessively sensitive skin. Patients with allergies to aspirin or salicylic acids should also avoid this treatment. If you have been on Accutane or undergone radiation therapy within the past year, the Prodigy Peel Pro System is not suitable. Patients with autoimmune diseases or vitiligo should consult their provider first.

Your Experience

What to Expect

Your visit begins with a brief skin assessment. Your provider will examine your skin, discuss your concerns, and determine whether the P2 or Pro P3 system is the right fit.

During the treatment, your provider applies the clinical Prodigy Peel solution in controlled layers. You may feel a mild sensation or tingle as the acids work to exfoliate and resurface the skin. The entire process typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes.

After your session, your provider may apply a soothing balm and SPF to protect the freshly treated skin. Redness is normal immediately following the peel. Over the next several days, you can expect mild peeling or flaking as your skin sheds the outermost layer and reveals a fresher, brighter complexion underneath. With the P2, downtime is minimal. With the Pro P3 medium-depth peel, expect moderate flaking for three to seven days.

Most patients notice a visible improvement in skin tone, texture, and radiant glow within one to two weeks.

Care Instructions

Pre & Post Care

Before your appointment:

Refrain from neurotoxin treatments for 48 hours before your peel. One week prior, avoid waxing, laser hair removal, hair removal creams, topical antibiotics, dermaplaning, and microdermabrasion. Stop using Retin-A, retinols, and exfoliating skincare products. Within two to four weeks before your appointment, avoid chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, and microblading. Arrive with clean skin free of makeup and sunscreen.

After your treatment:

For the first six days, cleanse gently with iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, apply Sheald Recovery Balm, and wear Extreme Protect SPF 30 or higher daily. From day seven to day 14, continue the same routine and add Pro Heal Serum Advance to help with redness and cell renewal. After day 14, gradually reintegrate your regular skincare routine. Expect moderate peeling or flaking for three to seven days, with some mild exfoliation possible up to 10 days. Avoid strenuous exercise and makeup for five to seven days following the treatment.

Common Questions

Prodigy PeelFAQ

The iS Clinical Prodigy Peel is a professional chemical peel system that uses a blend of active acids including salicylic acid, lactic acid, citric acid, and resorcinol to exfoliate dead skin cells and stimulate new cell turnover. It is available in two formulations — the P2 for superficial exfoliation and the Pro P3 for a medium-depth peel — so it can be customized for a variety of concerns and skin types.

The P2 is a lighter, superficial peel designed for gentle exfoliation with minimal downtime. It is a great choice for sensitive skin, first-time peel patients, or those looking for a quick refresh. The Pro P3 is a medium-depth peel that penetrates deeper into the layers of the skin to target more pronounced concerns like fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and skin laxity. The Pro P3 involves more peeling and flaking but delivers more dramatic improvement.

The Prodigy Peel System ranges from superficial to medium-depth. The P2 is a mild peel that most patients tolerate easily, while the Pro P3 is a stronger medium-depth peel. Neither is considered a deep chemical peel. Your provider will choose the right depth based on your skin type, concerns, and your experience with chemical peels.

The Prodigy Peel helps brighten your complexion, smooth rough texture, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, target hyperpigmentation and pigment irregularities, clarify mild acne, and improve overall skin tone. It also stimulates collagen production and cell turnover, which helps your skin look fresher and more youthful over time. Side effects are typically limited to temporary redness and sensitivity that resolve within a few days.

The Prodigy Peel can address fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, age spots, dull skin, mild acne, rough texture, skin laxity, and visible signs of aging. It is a versatile treatment that works across a wide range of age groups and concerns.

Most people are good candidates for a Prodigy Peel. It works well for a variety of skin types, including those with sensitive skin (using the P2 system). It is not recommended if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have active cold sores, open wounds, sunburn, or allergies to aspirin or salicylic acids. Patients who have used Accutane within the past year should also avoid the Pro P3 system.

During the treatment, your provider applies the peel solution in controlled layers. You may feel a mild tingle or warming sensation as the acids work. The process takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Afterward, expect redness and mild to moderate peeling or flaking over the next three to seven days as your skin renews itself. Most patients see a brighter, smoother complexion within one to two weeks.

A Prodigy Peel session takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Recovery depends on the peel depth. With the P2, you may experience mild flaking for a day or two with minimal downtime. With the Pro P3, expect moderate peeling for three to seven days. Avoid makeup and strenuous exercise for five to seven days post-treatment. Most patients return to normal activities within a week.

The cost of a Prodigy Peel depends on which system is used and whether it is part of a treatment series. The Pro P3 is recommended in a series of three treatments every four to eight weeks for best results. Schedule a consultation for a personalized quote. We also offer financing options to help make your treatment plan work within your budget.
