About This Treatment

What Are Neurotoxins?

Neurotoxins are cosmetic injectables made from botulinum toxin type A, a purified protein that temporarily relaxes targeted facial muscles. Each product works by relaxing the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles.

These are the creases that form when you squint, smile, or raise your brow. A neurotoxin treatment will temporarily relax those muscles so your skin can refresh and look smoother.

Boujee Nurse provides neurotoxin injections at our Greenwood Village med spa for patients who want to smooth fine lines and wrinkle formation without surgery.

Our RN-led team uses FDA-approved injectable treatments like Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Letybo to deliver natural-looking results with minimal downtime.

Whether you want to soften forehead lines, frown lines, or crow's feet, we create a personalized treatment plan based on your facial anatomy and aesthetic goals.

What Do Neurotoxins Treat?

Neurotoxin treatments smooth fine lines and wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions, helping reduce dynamic wrinkles and visible facial lines across multiple areas. Common treatment areas include:

  • Forehead lines and horizontal creases
  • Frown lines between the brows (the "11s")
  • Crow's feet around the eyes
  • Smile lines near the mouth
  • A subtle lift for a refreshed appearance
  • Bunny lines on the nose
  • Chin dimpling
  • Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)

Not sure which concerns a neurotoxin can address? Our treatments in Greenwood Village target the appearance of wrinkles across all these areas. Schedule a consultation to talk through your options with one of our nurses.

Ideal Candidates

Am I a Good Candidate?

Most adults looking to smooth lines and wrinkles and achieve a youthful look are good candidates for neurotoxin injections. You may be a good fit if you notice wrinkle formation on your forehead, between your brows, or around the eyes when you make expressions, and you want a non-surgical way to rejuvenate your appearance.

Cosmetic treatments with neurotoxins are safe and effective when administered correctly by a licensed provider. We do not recommend this treatment if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a known allergy to botulinum toxin. During your consultation, your nurse will review your medical history and customize a treatment plan to match your signs of aging and personal goals.

Your Experience

What to Expect

Your neurotoxin appointment takes roughly 10-15 minutes from start to finish. Your nurse will clean the skin, then inject small amounts of product into targeted facial muscles using a fine needle. Most patients describe the feeling as a brief pinch. If you prefer, we can numb the area with a topical before we begin.

Refreshed results typically start to appear within a few days, with full results visible around 14 days after your visit. Results from most neurotoxin brands last three to four months. Your nurse will help you plan follow-up Botox treatments or touch-ups so you can maintain your youthful, natural look over time.

There is minimal downtime after your injection appointment. You can return to work and daily activities right away. For the best results, avoid strenuous exercise, lying face down, and massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours.

Care Instructions

Pre & Post Care

Before your appointment, take Arnica Montana tablets for three days to reduce the chance of a bruise at the injection site. Avoid blood-thinning medications such as fish oil, aspirin, and ibuprofen. If you take prescription blood thinners, check with your prescribing provider before stopping them.

After treatment, avoid extreme heat or cold, strenuous exercise, and NSAIDs for at least four hours. Do not massage the treated area or wear tight headgear during this window. This helps prevent the product from shifting to undesired areas. For the full list of instructions, visit our Pre and Post Treatment page or call us at (303) 900-8751.

Common Questions

NeurotoxinsFAQ

Xeomin and Botox are both FDA-approved neurotoxin brands made from botulinum toxin type A. Xeomin contains no added proteins, which may reduce the chance of building resistance over time. Both products have strong safety records when administered by a trained professional. Your nurse can help you decide which option works best for your wrinkle concerns and treatment history.

Long-term Botox use does not damage the skin or underlying muscles. Patients who keep up with regular neurotoxin treatments often notice their wrinkle patterns smooth out over time because the targeted muscles stay relaxed. If you stop treatments, your facial muscles will gradually return to normal activity and dynamic wrinkle lines may reappear.

Xeomin is sometimes called the "naked" neurotoxin because it is free of complexing proteins. Letybo and Daxxify are newer options with different formulations. The best product for you depends on your skin, your history with injectables, and your desired outcome. During your consultation, your nurse will walk you through each filler and neurotoxin option.

Any injection near the eyes or brow requires a skilled nurse who understands facial anatomy in detail. When placed incorrectly, a neurotoxin in these areas can cause a drooping eyelid or uneven results. At Boujee Nurse, every injection is performed by a registered nurse with specialized training in facial aesthetics, so you can feel confident about your results.
