This treatment is not recommended for patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, or have certain autoimmune conditions. Our injectable treatments work across all skin types, but your nurse will review your medical history during your consultation to confirm the right approach for you.
What to Expect
Your appointment at our Greenwood Village medical spa takes about 60 minutes.
Your nurse injector starts with a consultation to discuss your goals and customize a treatment plan. She will assess your facial anatomy, recommend specific products, and explain the results you can expect.
Before the injection, a topical numbing cream is applied to keep you comfortable. Most patients describe the sensation as mild pressure.
Your injector will then inject the hyaluronic acid filler to smooth lines, restore volume, and build natural contour while maintaining a natural appearance. Results that look refreshed show right away, though the final look settles over two to four weeks as the filler integrates with your tissue.
You might experience mild swelling or tenderness at the injection sites, and it is common to bruise slightly. Bruising and swelling typically resolve within a week. There is no real downtime after your filler treatment.
Pre & Post Care
Before Your Appointment: Start Arnica Montana tablets three to four days before your treatment to minimize the chance of a bruise. Avoid blood thinners like fish oil, aspirin, and ibuprofen. Do not schedule dental work within two weeks of your injection. If you are prone to cold sores, pretreat with Valtrex or Acyclovir.
After Your Treatment: Continue Arnica and increase water intake while limiting sodium. Take an antihistamine like Zyrtec or Benadryl to manage swelling. Avoid massaging the treated area, as this can shift filler placement. Fillers can last months to years, but they take two to four weeks to fully settle and show your final appearance while maintaining their shape.
